Aquafarm International B.V. is looking for an enthusiastic Fishhouse Caretaker to strengthen our team.
Your role as Fishhouse Employee
Each morning, you handle deliveries of beautiful fish, carefully unpacking them in line with the guidelines. You marvel at their vibrant colours and patterns before continuing your day caring for these remarkable creatures. This includes thoroughly cleaning the tanks, preparing food, and administering medication as needed. Along the way, you develop the skills to observe their behaviour and understand their individual needs.
In the afternoons, you focus on preparing orders, ensuring every fish meets the highest standards through strict quality checks. Precision is key when handling the fish. Whether managing new shipments or tackling unexpected challenges, you rely on your knowledge and follow protocols, always putting the welfare of the fish first.
Working as part of a close-knit team of around 20 colleagues, we support each other and work together towards shared success!
You completely recognise yourself in this profile:
- You are skilled in unpacking, packing, preparing for shipment, sorting, and inspecting;
- You are flexible with an infectious drive and a great dose of enthusiasm;
- You are willing to work variable hours, including up to one-weekend shift per month (Saturday and Sunday mornings).
- You enjoy structure and feel comfortable with repetitive production tasks;
- You also like to diversify your daily activities and learn new skills;
- You enjoy working independently but have a team spirit to help your colleagues when needed.
Your work environment at AquaFarm:
We are AquaFarm International B.V. Our nursery has over 400 individual filtered fibre glass tanks, with a total water capacity of over 800,000 litres. In addition, we have 400,000 litres of fresh water for daily water changes. With the largest range of pond fish, Japanese Koi, Israeli Koi and fan tails in the EU, we offer an extensive selection. Our collection of more than 450 tropical fish species is housed in 2,400 aquariums. Aquafarm’s experienced team has in-depth knowledge of fish breeding, with many having been in the ornamental fish industry for more than 25 years.
